If that is the case, contact your public school district and request testing for the gifted/talented program. If he qualifies, this is an incredible enrichment program to meet his specific needs.

 in response to lucky J...   Try you local one-stop, or workforce agency. You will have to put in some effort, but they may have the funding you are looking for at no charge to you in order for you to go to colledge or recive career training

 in response to Beardoc...   Yes, Werner will provide training, and yes they will simply deduct the money for training right out of your paycheck, and yea you can leave when you want, however... If you think your gonna go somwhere else, they will screw you on your DAC report! Then the other company will be hesitant on hiring you, and you will get next to nothing on your miles. After 25 years in the printing (graphics) industry I was laid off a couple of years ago. I have collected all the unemployment I was eligible for, but recently decided to go into an entirely new profession (brewing), I just took a number of courses to build my credentials to make me more hire-able; I've spent close to $10k for the tuition, travel expenses, etc. -- I've put a lot of stress on my remaining savings to do this. So now I am wondering if there is any chance of me getting any federal reimbursement for retraining or at the very least a tax deduction.

I have a six,soon to be 7 year old son who has been diagnosed with ADHD and Aspbergers disorder. He attends a public school in Illinois. I am looking for a private school, and scholarship information for him. He is very intelligent, he need to be adequately challenged. They took him out of kindergarten and put him in 1st grade last school year. Now he is in 2nd grade. he has an IQ of 150 at the age of 4.  in response to r0b...   If you are very lucky I live in Indiana and the workforceone is their versionof unnemployment they make you pass all these work keys test I passed them all and did great but they allways seem to run out of money they pay half and the Sage school pays the rest still havent heard from them they dont return calls ,e-mails.I got a e-mail from CR England today and they got a thing where you sign a 6-month work for them and you can leave or stay and owe them zero.Not to bad had a buddy that went through it and he was all right making good money must be doing something right he got a new truck and now he is training and making more.Hope this helps 801-074-2739 -marco direct number.You got till the 27or 29th to sign up

I see a lot of post about WIA but here in Florida were I am the program is out of money since early June 2011. So no more funding untel next year. It also takes months as many been posting.  in response to wolf221...   hey wolf i was a truck driver for 12years before i gor injured and couldnt work anymore .i wont to the drivers license office got a free booklet on dot rules and reg. and studdied and took my tests and got all my endorsments. wasnt really that hard. but i needed a truck to take my driveing part with.i went to a regional state office with the state of missouri and they sent me to truck driveing school at no cost to me.came under a job change and improvment grant.well i went and didnt have to set through the written stuff .only did the driveing part witch i could already drive a big truck.they sent my right up i took the test in their truck and i was a trokdriver.its a job you wont make much money you wont be home much money.you would make more money and be home if you would work at mcdonalds or at a gas station. you wont listen but remember i told you so.and they always lie to you.good luck

I am a 13 year old high-school student who has a 4.0 gpa and I want to to keep going to my school but my parents can't take me every day so I take rides with my friends parents . Every week I pay $20 for the gas money . My school is the best in the county so there have been a couple people who have gone into Stanford University my dream has been to go there since 5th grade . But since my parents are farmers once the season is over they can no longer afford to pay gas money therefore I have no ride to school and have no way of going . I have all straight A's I have the highest grade in my biology class ; a A in Geometry ; an A in Literature and in A in World Geography ; An A in P.E : an A in computer class and an A in Wood tech 1. I have joined 4 clubs 3 out four are community service clubs . Last year in eight grade I had about 60hrs of community service that was given to the high school and plus this year I have done about 10hrs so far. My parents are both full blooded Hispanics that crossed the border in 1960's and they are residents here . My strongest subjects are Science and World Geography and Math . I am a 17 year old high-school senior who is finally about to apply for college! I am the first person out of my whole family to go to college and I have no help or guidance for the process. I recently had a stroke and now only have about 60 percent of my vision. I now need to go to college so that I can train in a career that does not require peripheral vision. Here in TEXAS WIA does not cover the Truck Driving training but the local colleges offer a Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) and the steps are the same as filling out for the FASFA application. It is on a first come, first serve basis.

I'm a young guy that wants to get my CDL. I went down to "SC One Stop", that's the employment center near Charleston, and I applied for the WIA training. It took them 2 months to get back to me. They said that I qualified for their program. Its been another 3 weeks and I have yet to hear back. I am done with them. I don't like asking the gov. for anything, but I need a good job, so I found a driving school. Now my question is where can I go to get some form of loan, grant, or assistance. $3,120 is a lot to come up with when you've been looking for work.
